This fly is a bit more illustrative than my normal work. I wanted to create a piece that was a little less “artsy” and more realistic without having a photo-realism look to it.

I just finish reworking my painting of Brad Befus’ Para Emerger.

Brad has developed a number of patterns during his fly fishing career and is co-author of Carp on the Fly, an authoritative book on fly fishing for the elusive carp.
